Diana Hopeson
Gospel Singer, Missionary, Performing and Recording Artiste, (formerly Diana Akiwumi)A graduate from the University of Ghana School of Performing Arts. Diana has nine (9) Albums to her Credit. Her career has sent her to all the ten (10) regions of Ghana as well as many Cities in the neighboring West African countries like Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abeokuta, Benin City and Zaria all in Nigeria. Other African Countries are Togo, La Cote D’Ivoire, Senegal, Kenya and Johannesburg and Durban in South Africa. She has also toured Holland, Germany, France, UK in Europe and New York and Chicago in the United States of America.
Diana has served on the Ghanaian national planning committee to organize nationwide live musical events since late 90‘s. Her main objective is to evangelize using Creative Arts to bring Inspiration, education and total liberation to her fans. She was a worship leader at the Miracle Life Gospel center, Tema from 1988-2006. She was also a Worship leader and School Director at the Youth With A Mission base in Tema from 2003-2006.
She is the Vice President of Generation for Christ International (GCI), a Christian Mission and humanitarian organization founded by her husband. www.generationforchrist.org.
Diana is the current President of the Musicians union of Ghana –MUSIGA. www.musiga.org. She has served the Union as a National Executive since 1999. She co-ordinates for Gospel Musicians and serves on the Planning Committee for the Ghana Music Awards. She contributed to discussions with the Parliamentarian select committee to pass the 2005 Copyright Bill. The current Chairman of the Copyright Society of Ghana (COSGA) Interim Management Board and also a steering committee member of Cultural Initiative Support Program (CISP).
Diana is the managing director of EDH International, among others a manufacturer’s representative, record label and production company. She runs a Performing Arts School and seminar which trains talented people in the arts. Her love for children drove her into hosting a Kiddy time program on radio in the late 90’s. She is currently running a Bible correspondence course for children between the ages of seven (7) to fourteen (14) years. Diana is married to Rev. Emmanuel Hopeson and they are blessed with a son.
